Council of European Union: No DU was used in Afghanistan

On April 9, 2002, Spanish Minister of Defence Federicio Trillo-Figueroa confirmed on behalf of the Council of the European Union in an answer to a question by MEP Paul Lannoye (Greens) that no depleted uranium was used in Afghanistan. The proposition that weapons containing DU may have been used in Afghanistan was raised by Dai Williams with the UK Government via MPs on 16th October and 1st November
